
EPS (RFA)
Electrophysiology Study (EPS) and Radiofrequency Ablation (RFA) are specialised procedures used to diagnose and treat abnormal heart rhythms, or arrhythmias, and are often performed together in a single session for effective management.
Purposes of performing EPS (RFA):
- To treat the arrhythmia with RFA.
- To prevent future arrhythmia episodes.
- To diagnose the type and source of arrhythmia.
- To reduce or eliminate the need for medication.
- To evaluate symptoms like palpitations or fainting etc.
